Investigation of the relationship between sit-and-reach flexibility and the height, the leg length and the trunk length in adolescent athletes

Background: ‪‪The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between Sit-and-Reach (SR) test and height, leg length, trunk length male female adolescent athletes, obtain relative SR results using these anthropometric values. Material methods: ‪‪Fifty-six athletes were included in study. The athletes’ trunk, hip, hamstring flexibility evaluated with (traditional). height-relative SR, length-relative values calculated by proportioning each data Pearson/Spearman correlation analysis used according distribution status. Statistical significance was taken as p<0.05. Results: There a very strong positive traditional all (r:0.991/0.996; p<0.05). Traditional similar genders; however, found be higher athletes. Conclusions: ‪We think that will give more accurate comparing flexibility. Therefore, we suggest should tests, its practical use increased.
